Katherine Mansfield

I’m always very happy to come across another woman writer. Katherine died at just 34 years old and wrote a great number of short stories. Last night I had a super cool conversation in my bookclub about her.

The story The Garden Party reminded me of  Ursula Le Guin's Mazes and also Wuthering Heights, where a fictional narrative is used to point out the toxicity of a classists and oligarchic society, and the way the look down on Indigenous people and anyone from a lower classes. 

I loved the story last night and everything I learned about her a very bold and rebellious writer who died far too young.
