Anxious, because I felt like I said too much on Wednesday. Anxious because changes are coming at my job. I’ve gathered enough information now to confirm my suspicion. Many of us are going to be replaced by an AI agent at our company. Other agencies and insurance companies are already doing it, so it makes sense that this agency would follow.
Less employees, less cost, more profits.
At first, I had a very emotional reaction.
Ironically, I talked to another AI, and it helped bring me back down to earth.
It made me realize several things and see the situation more objectively
First, not to take it personal:
When companies implement AI and restructure:
-
They automate small accounts.
-
They automate repetitive service tasks.
-
They protect revenue producers first.
This is standard corporate behavior. Not personal.
Second, not to take it personal:
The Behavioral Shift of Your Coworker
This is the part that feels threatening to you.
Possibility A:
She was asked to attend and told not to broadly discuss restructuring yet.
Possibility B:
She is positioning herself closer to producers for security.
Possibility C:
There is upcoming restructuring and she already knows more than you.
Notice something important:
None of these mean:
“Dilcia specifically is the problem.”
They mean:
The company is reorganizing.
Third, not to take it personal:
Do not internalize corporate restructuring as personal rejection.
Corporations do not measure human value.
They measure efficiency.
NEXT STEPS:
Starting now:
-
Update your resume.
-
Update LinkedIn quietly.
-
Start applying to similar roles (even casually).
-
Reduce unnecessary spending immediately.
-
If possible, begin building even a tiny emergency buffer.
Control reduces anxiety.
Right now, your job is not to decide “I’m doomed.”
Your job is:
- Stay employed.
- Gather information.
- Prepare quietly.
- Stabilize finances.
You are not powerless here.
You are early in the signal phase.
That’s actually the best time to act calmly.
